Brilliant and entirely too smart

Ingrid's typical attire includes at least 3 shades of pink, 2 patterns, and a handful of glitter and rhinestones, so it was odd that she was dressed in all white today (shoes included and lacking any jewelry). She later explained that in honor of her first trip to the dentist, she was dressed like a tooth.

Doesn't everyone dress like a tooth on their first trip to the dentist?!

After the dentist Ingrid decided to spend the day in the office and generally likes spending time at my desk. She was playing around and typing on my other computer and turned to me and said, "if you want to be my assistant, you have to be productive." WHOA. Where did that come from, and how did I become the assistant?! Soon after she started redecorating her side of my desk.

Tonight Ingrid, Jon, and I got my bike out from under my parents house and cleaned off the cobwebs. After some major TLC from Jon and some air in the tires from Ingrid, its good to go!

Big Girl Bag

After significant wardrobe coaching (and judging) from Ingrid (and no, I am not even kidding), I finally bought a big girl bag. I didn't consult with her before I purchased it, but luckily she approved when she saw it tonight!

Play Date

Ingrid has been begging to come play at my house since October, and today our schedules finally matched up. We played with trolls, had a troll tea party, did some art projects and then had ice cream. In her eyes, no trip to my house is successful if we don't walk to get ice cream!

Needless to say, we both enjoyed our rainbow sherbet with rainbow sprinkles!

Ing's Ballet Class

I had the opportunity to go and which Ingrid's ballet class on Sunday morning (along with her entourage) and I just HAD to take pictures. I am still learning my new camera and couldn't get the settings quite right, but I got a few keepers!

365, Happy Birthday Ingrid!

I can't believe Ingrid turned 3 today- where has the time gone?! She had a fabulous day that started with a surprise balloon from her daddy in her room when she woke up and ended with some awesome gifts and fruit tart. In between there was also cupcakes at school, reading Rapunzel from a new book and modeling a fabulous new dress. The best gifts definitely had to be the awesome Pinkalicious bike from her parents with a basket in front and seat in back for a doll baby, and a pretty sweet remote control Barbie corvette. The 5 year old inside me was insanely jealous! All in all, a great day for a great little girl. Love you Ing!

Publicity Round Up

A few weeks ago I was browsing the Washington Post website and found a page requesting user submissions on 9/11 for their 10-year tribute. I figured "sure, why not?" and went about submitting something and then promptly forgot about the whole thing. On Wednesday, I got an email from the Post saying that they had selected my comment and would be publishing it along with a picture of me! Yes, this is very exciting, but in typical Cecily fashion, I have no idea what I wrote. I'm just hoping that I sound moderately intelligent! It is supposed to be online on the 11th and could end up in print as well- that part was still unknown when I spoke to the editor.


I posted a couple screenshots of my photo of Ingrid during the hurricane, but I finally had a chance to go through my files and find them all. So, in no particular order, 1 or 2 of my photos was published in the following news outlets:

This afternoon I went puddle-splashing with Ingrid and was able to snap a few photos with my underwater camera. I thought it was super cute and submitted it online on a whim, and ta-da!

Girls at the Beach House Again

Carter sent these yesterday... My personal favorite is the one of them both reading books. I've been so busy the last 2 weeks that I haven't seen them in person and it's killing me!

The Schultz clan is at the beach this weekend enjoying some time away and Carter sent these pictures of the girls yesterday. (Yes, clan usually indicates more than 4 people, but I have yet to come up with a more creative name for the combo of Carter, Jon, Ingrid, and Liesl.)
