365, Happy Halloween

No, those are not my pumpkins, but its the only photo I took today.

365, IHOP Makes Everything Better

The real reason I dragged myself out of bed and to the soccer field this morning was so that I could enjoy brunch with Megan after the game. And it was totally worth it!

365, Shooting Hoops

The best part about going to the gym on a Saturday is that everything is empty, including the basketball court. Normally there is an intense pickup game going on, but today I had the chance to shoot around for a bit after my workout. While I don't think the WNBA is drafting up a contract for me, it was fun to have a basketball back in my hands again.

365, Weather

I checked the weather on my phone this afternoon and was stunned to see the snow flurries icon in the weekend forecast!

365, Decorations

Our next-door neighbors have two kids and it looks like they are ready for Halloween!

365, Warning: May Bruise Nose

Ok, so that warning wasn't printed anywhere, but it should have been. I had a free sample of Breathe Right strips and I was feeling a bit stuffy last night so I decided to give it a try. I had it attached to my face for less than an hour when I decided it was uncomfortable enough to outweighed any potential benefits.

I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror this morning and was less than pleased to find a small purple bruise on my schnoz! Carter said she didn't notice it until I mentioned it, but still. It was only a Breathe Right strip, for crying out loud!

365, Circa

Although this might look like an adult beverage, fear not, it is a shirley temple.

365, Happy Birthday Ingrid!

I can't believe Ingrid turned 3 today- where has the time gone?! She had a fabulous day that started with a surprise balloon from her daddy in her room when she woke up and ended with some awesome gifts and fruit tart. In between there was also cupcakes at school, reading Rapunzel from a new book and modeling a fabulous new dress. The best gifts definitely had to be the awesome Pinkalicious bike from her parents with a basket in front and seat in back for a doll baby, and a pretty sweet remote control Barbie corvette. The 5 year old inside me was insanely jealous! All in all, a great day for a great little girl. Love you Ing!

365, Whoa

This conference is pretty massive... this is just one side of the exhibition hall! And yes, that is a pool in the center with underwater treadmills.

365, Bass Marketing

Natalie is exhibiting at a conference at the Convention Center and asked me if I wanted to help out with setting up, 2 days of exhibiting, and then packing it up again. I've never been to a trade show before but I have seen them on tv and spent some time learning about trade show graphics in school, so of course I accepted the offer. We spent the afternoon setting up her booth and I got to take a lovely stroll down memory lane and mount some of her work on foam core. After college there really aren't many chances to show off your OCDness and mount things for display, so it was fun.

On top of all this I get a BADGE (with my name on it!) and FREE STUFF from all the other booths. Hello, free pens! I know next to nothing about health care marketing but I'm excited to be a part of this!

365, Liesy Beezy

No pants and one sock make for a smiley Liesl bug!

365, Five Guys

Carter's office got Five Guys for lunch and naturally I couldn't say no to free food. On top of it being free, it was super tasty and hit the spot for a rainy day. Thanks CampSol!

I have been so overwhelmed by my infinite to do list that I finally wrote it all down on paper this morning. It got to be so long that I had to go onto the next page which wouldn't be surprising if I was writing on post-it notes, but instead it was an 8.5 x 11 in piece of paper. Having it all written out is nice so that I don't forget anything, but it doesn't make it any less overwhelming!

365, Paperweight

I'm not sure how this is even possible, but I feel so much busier now than I did when I actually had a job! Gah!

365, Tasty Vitamins?!

Sour gummy vitamins for adults that actually taste good. Love it.

Another Favorite Book

My dedicated reading time went out the window along with my job, but I have been trying to find time to work it back into my schedule. I finished this one last night, and it is DEFINITELY one of my favorite books. My Mom got me the physical book a while ago and I couldn't convince myself to pick it up, but I rented it from the library on my Nook and now wonder why I didn't read it sooner. If you haven't read it, you are seriously missing out!

365, Baking Binge 2k11

This morning I got up and made some sticky buns from Gitsy and Poppa, chocolate chip cookies to take to Megan's potluck, and some sugar cookies for Megan to take to the KG folks that have to work tomorrow. It almost sounds impressive that I did all this before noon, but a handful of my friends ran the Army 10-miler this morning, so its pretty hard to top that!

365, Finally!

I love to make pumpkin bread... well, I love to EAT pumpkin bread which means I have to make it. Anyhow, Harris Teeter has been out of canned pumpkin for MONTHS now! Seriously. Every time I go to the store I check for it so I can make some bread, and today they finally had some in stock. You could argue that pumpkins are seasonal so there is no need to keep them stocked in the off-season, but this is canned pumpkin, so thats really not a valid excuse. Step it up please, Harris Teeter.

In fear of another pumpkin shortage, I stocked up today. This will be enough for 8 loaves of bread and should last me a while.

365, That Looks Familiar

I wonder if they meant to make the mannequin look like a Tiffany's box...

365, Day 276

My unemployment seems to be following Ingrid's preschool pattern... her first week was flawless, but the following weeks were pretty rough. Last week I did pretty well being unemployed (submitted lots of applications, etc), but today was tough.

Despite dragging in the early part of the day, I once again joined Megan and her family for dinner. It was too cold to eat outside on the boat, so we ate Nicole's lasagna and salad inside the Capital Yacht Club. Nicole, Jack, and Marrietta will be setting sail for warmer waters on Thursday morning, which is a bummer because I have had such a good time getting to know them and they are some of the most welcoming people I have ever met. Wishing them calm seas and smooth sailing!

365, Poor Lungs

My lungs had a rough time at my soccer game tonight with the sudden cold front, and I'm sure it didn't help that we didn't have any subs. At least it wasn't raining... that would have really added insult to injury!

365, More Rain (Of Course)

There were a whopping 4 days of sun in the month of September. October, you need to step up your game because I'm not liking what I saw today!
