First DIY project of the weekend
Ok, in reality I started this last weekend, but I added the white tonight. I'm not totally in love with it right now, so I'm not going to call it completed just yet.
I should really remember to take BEFORE pictures... not just AFTER pictures.

Warrior Dash
Running two 5k races in one weekend was not one of my finer ideas, but luckily the harder one was today. Warrior Dash is basically a 5k obstacle course where you end up completely covered in mud. My knee was bothering from the race yesterday so I made Megan walk between a lot of the obstacles, but it was still a serious workout and I may not be able to move tomorrow morning.
All day I assumed my picture of the day would be one of my sweet medal (which is indeed very super sweet and totally awesome), but this picture is just too good to pass up. I brought my underwater camera on the race course with me and it got really muddy, but its interesting how much mud remains AFTER being hosed down with a fire hose.
Yeah, it was awesome.

Backlogged on life
I'm not entirely sure what has happened over the last few weeks, but I feel like I have been pretty backlogged on life in general. Sure, some pop-up rush deadlines and moving took up some time, but where did the rest of it go?!
One of the more noteworthy things that took place was Megan convinced her sister to make a blog. Why is this so major? Well because her sister just had her second baby and travels the world. Oh, and their family LIVES on a sailboat. Its pretty amazing and unique and the things she does on a daily basis are fascinating. Once she gave the ok, Megan and I pounced on the idea before she could change her mind, did some blog title brainstorming, got sister approval, and then spent our weekly dinner getting the new blog set up. It was extremely exciting to be a part of... there were some news crews that came aboard the boat and did segments on her, and one of the articles linked to the blog. Within 24 hours the blog had over 1000 hits! I highly recommend checking it out and continuing to check back for updates! http://ohtheplaceswevebeen.com/
Oh, and I got to have some fun designing the header! Seriously, go check it out.

Typical dinner
Megan and I are running the Warrior Dash on Sunday and we have Ninja Turtle costumes (its ok to be jealous). I should be fair and say that Megan has a fairly elaborate costume and I have a shirt, but at least our shirts will coordinate. She needed a mask, so my task tonight was turning her old headband into a turtle bandana mask. Mission accomplished!

Thanks guys!
Tonight Ingrid, Jon, and I got my bike out from under my parents house and cleaned off the cobwebs. After some major TLC from Jon and some air in the tires from Ingrid, its good to go!

Inaugural dinner
Tonight was the first of our weekly dinners at my new place and it was amazing! I made fajitas (meaning I grilled onions with pre-done chicken shortcuts, heated the tortillas over an open flame and bought toppings) and my counter as never seen so many things on it at once. Despite all of the dishes and the single pan that I used, it was totally worth it and the three of us had a great time... Two weeks to figure out the next menu!

New sheets!
After a week of staring at my new sheets, I finally got around to putting them on tonight. I LOVE the comforter cover and am hoping the jersey-knit sheets will be as amazing as I expect!
(This picture really doesn't do them justice, so use your imagination)

Jewelry
I think Ingrid gave me a pass on my lack of accessories last week, but we all know that could only last so long. My one productive act of the day was hanging up a bulletin board and then putting all of my necklaces on it. In the past I have used 3m hooks on the wall, but my bulletin board needed a place to live and a new purpose in my grown-up living space, so this seemed to kill 2 birds with one stone (its behind my bedroom door).

Well, thats one way to unpack
This afternoon I decided that I was tired of looking at boxes, so I emptied most of them. A lot of things found homes on shelves, but a fair number ended up stacked in various piles. But hey, at least all the big boxes are gone!
