Another Year, Another Candle

On Sunday I celebrated by 24th birthday. Over the past few years I have realized how once you cross the threshold of age 21, there is no point in keeping track of your age. Luckily, I know how old I am in relation to my closest friends, so I always have to ask them how old they are before I can answer the question myself. The other say someone suggested I could just do the math to figure it out... HA! Clearly, they don't know that once I run out of fingers, the counting stops until there is a calculator.

The day was low key and overall very nice. When I woke up and went downstairs, there was a trail of happy birthday messages followed by a sweet Lisa Frank sticker at the end... Jackpot! Then I went over to my parents and did brunch with the gang, and I think Ingrid may have enjoyed opening presents more than I did. I have never seen a 2 year old get so excited over a KitchenAid! Watching Ing at Christmas this year is sure to be a show.

Post brunch I went back to my house and played some nerdy games on my iPhone and lounged around the house in sweats. It was rainy and cold and generally a day that was designed to be enjoyed in the comfort of sweats and cozy blankets.

The roomies got me a delicious ice cream cake, fully decked out with light-up princesses (it has become a birthday tradition at the clubhouse). After cake, we ordered food for dinner and watched the Caps game.

All in all, a good birthday. I posted on facebook that if my birthday was any indication of the year to come, it is going to be a good one... how optimistic of me! I think the princess ice cream cake got to me and made the glass have full... I'm sure within a day or two I will find myself completely parched and the glass will return to its normal level :-)

I don't have all of the pictures on my computer yet, but here are a few to share...

Haven't had a chance to write and upload my birthday post (yesterday), but a big thanks for all the well wishes and to everyone who made it such a great day!
